Vertical Grinding

Designed for internal and external grinding of cylindrical workpieces, B&K Springfield universal grinders incorporate proven engineering technology gained through thousands of applications and more than 40 years of experience. Unlike horizontal grinders, where operators are constantly fighting gravity, Springfield grinders use the weight of the workpiece to help position it on the work table. As a result, parts are more easily and correctly loaded the first time, reducing scrap.

VBG vertical grinding centers are Bourn & Koch's newest design for grinding hardened gear ODs and IDs concentric to the pitch line of a finished gear. Derived from the best features from the legacy line of Springfield grinders, the new VBG grinders have the advantages of precision and reliabilty of the legacy line combined with technologically updated features, such as the new HMI (Human-Machine Interface), which uses a drop down menu style in a standard Windows XP explorer enviroment. No CNC programming knowledge is required.
